CCALAC Meetings & Roundtables

Board of Director Meetings

The CCALAC Board of Directors meets every other month and is comprised of 13 volunteer member clinic directors, elected by the Membership. The CCALAC Board has four committees: Finance, Audit, Personnel (Ad Hoc) and Nominations (Ad Hoc).
Member Meetings

The Members' Meeting is comprised of representatives who have joined CCALAC as Members or Affiliates.  The paramount objective is to serve as a forum for our clinic Members to inform them of ongoing activities, address issues of concern, formulate strategies and vote on motions that require approval by the full membership of the organization.
Compensated Care and Public Policy

The Compensated Care and Public Policy Advisory Group reviews and takes position on legislative and regulatory issues. This group meets regularly and is open to our full membership. It provides a forum for CCALAC staff and our members to engage in two-way dialogue about pending legislation, public policy initiatives and regulatory issues.
Clinical Advisory Group (CAG)

The Clinical Advisory Group is composed of Chief Medical Officers, Medical Directors, and senior clinicians of our CCALAC Membership. The group is an outgrowth of CCALAC's ongoing commitment to its Members, and recognition of the importance of working with clinician leadership to reduce health disparities. The Clinical Advisory Group's current projects and initiatives include quality improvement & chronic disease management, workforce development, health information technology, health system integration, specialty care access, and peer support. Leadership of the group is delegated to an elected Chair and Vice Chair. The group is a unique gathering of clinician leadership with a high level of engagement by CCALAC Member organizations. It is open to all CCALAC Chief Medical Officers, Medical Directors or their designees. CAG meets the second Tuesday of every month.
Medication Use (MedUse) Workgroup

The MedUse Workgroup is the combination of both the Pharmacy Workgroup and the Clinical Advisory Group.  Participants from both work groups meet quarterly to discuss issues that affect both groups.  Some topics may include: medication utilization, efficacy, cost and other issues related to administration and dispensing of medication.

Directors of Nursing Roundtable

The Directors of Nursing Roundtable brings together Nursing Directors and key nursing personnel of our CCALAC Members. The roundtable developed as a peer support network of senior nursing staff, which is a natural vehicle for increased cooperation and collaboration among CCALAC Member organizations. In addition to peer support, the group focuses on clinical system improvements, workforce development, general clinic operations, and nursing leadership. The roundtable is lead by elected co-chairs. The group meets the first Tuesday of the month, and all CCALAC Member organizations are invited to send a representative.

Mental Health Roundtable

The Mental Health Roundtable is a monthly gathering of mental health professionals of CCALAC Member organizations. The group was developed as a peer support network, intended to share best practices and develop strategies to improve mental health access to underserved populations throughout Los Angeles County. Initiatives include working with regional mental health leaders on models of integrated models of care, working within the framework of community/free clinics. In addition, the roundtable provides guidance regarding advocacy, workforce development, and clinic operations. As with other groups, the Mental Health Roundtable is lead by elected co-chairs and facilitated by Clinical Services staff. The group meets monthly and all CCALAC members are welcome to send a representative.
Dental Roundtable

The Dental Roundtable is a peer network composed of Dental Directors and dental staff of CCALAC Members. The group has focused on increasing access to dental services, as well as improving collaboration among CCALAC Members. In addition, the Dental Roundtable seeks to advocate for legislation and policies which enhance system integration within the context of a medical home model. The group is facilitated by Clinical Services staff and is lead by elected co-chairs serving one year terms. The roundtable meets monthly and all CCALAC members are welcome to send a representative.
Los Angeles County MegaWest Users Group (LACMUG)

Created in 2003, the Los Angeles County MegaWest Users Group (LACMUG) is a peer workgroup comprised of representatives from eight CCALAC clinic members. The MegaWest software has “modules” that support appointment scheduling, patient registration/check in, patient billing, insurance claims processing and other functions. LACMUG’s goals include shared experience and problem solving among users, taking advantage of this group economy of scale in order to receive discounted pricing and other benefits from the vendor, and the standardization of data among clinics. While this peer network was initially funded by a TIDES grant, members currently pay a yearly fee to be a part of the group.

Curriculum and content of LACMUG meetings are driven by the LACMUG Executive Oversight Committee and the LACMUG Coodinating Committee.

Disaster Preparedness Workgroup

The Disaster Preparedness Workgroup is comprised of representatives from CCALAC Member clinics interested in participating in Los Angeles County's emergency/disaster planning efforts. Through the workgroup, CCAAC assists Members that are Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) to meet the federal expectations for FQHCs around emergency preparedness. This Roundtable meets once per month.

CFO Roundtable

The CFO Roundtable is comprised of Chief Financial Officers or other finance staff that have joined together to share information and best practice strategies.
