Through
advocacy and education,
CCALAC seeks to ensure and sustain healthcare funding for
medically indigent, uninsured and vulnerable populations that
are served by community clinics and health centers (CCHCs).
The association's staff works with local, state and federal
officials and other stakeholders to exchange information about
new developments; to educate decision-makers about the impacts
of proposed legislation on underserved people and on our
member clinics; and to make sure that free and community
clinics are incorporated into local plans for service delivery
and funding streams.
CCALAC
works cooperatively with the
California Primary Care Association
and California’s
15
Regional Consortia
on State issues, and the
National Association of Community
Health Centers
on Federal issues.
Through the Compensated Care and Public Policy Advisory Group
and the membership meetings, CCALAC reviews and takes position
on legislative and regulatory issues. Both of these groups
meet regularly and are open to our full membership. They
provide a forum for CCALAC staff and our members to engage in
two-way dialogue about pending legislation, public policy
initiatives and regulatory issues.
